Claire Taylor performs Paulina’s monologue from The Winter’s Tale, a play by William Shakespeare.
She did radio locally and now on the internet for a show called Braselide, broadcast in English and Haitian Creole for the Boston Haitian community and some in the past with Cameo Broadcasting. Her signature show on Cameo was about high school hazing.
She is a voiceover artist, singer, and lover of cross cultural communications and conversations about social interaction and justice.
From Claire: “I took a leap here. I never thought doing Shakespeare would be my thing. What I found was a depth in it I didn’t expect. I chose Paulina from A Winter’s Tale because she’s strong and fearless and loyal and loving all at once. I quickly grew to appreciate her complexity and the timelessness of a woman maneuvering in a life controlled by powerful men. Realizing what that could mean on all levels helped the memorization, too. I’m confident now in my ability to do that. It was my first time!”
